Decrease social isolation and provide other services to let clients be as independent as possible

We are celebrating 25 years of keeping our community members healthy and engaged!

For 25 years, Collinsville Faith in Action has helped residents live with dignity and independence.

Each day, our volunteers drive clients to medical appointments and to complete errands through our Assisted Transportation program. Without this service, many of the Collinsville residents who can no longer drive would be without care AND without a friend to help. Our drivers and clients build friendships as they get to appointments and run errands. Janie receives dialysis three times weekly, and our faithful volunteers LOVE being with Janie because of her positive attitude!

Connie was not allowed to leave her room in a local assisted living facility for 13 months. Her only contact with friends came through our Social Programs such as Elder Connection monthly luncheons, pen-pal program, Circle of Friends, and reassurance phone calls by volunteers. Connie is at high risk for feelings of loneliness, but since joining our no-cost Elder Connection program, she has remained an active member of the Collinsville community. And she is excellent at our Trivia Games!

We're getting more and more calls from members of the Sandwich Generation with questions on how they can help Mom or Dad remain independent as they age. Our Answers on Aging specialist provides free Medicare Counseling, helps people apply for a discounted license plate sticker, coordinates minor home repairs and wheel chair ramp construction, and an endless number of services to help people 60 years of age and older and adults with disabilities remain as independent as possible. If you know someone concerned about their older parents well-being, we can help! If YOU need to learn more about Medicare or need assistance, we're here for you!

All of our programs happen with just three full-time staff and an army of volunteers putting their faith into action. If you'd like to donate to our General Operations, know that we will put your donation to good use.
